Knysna Deep Sea Fishing with Blixsem Fishing Charters

 Blixsem is a 28 foot Butt Cat powered by 2 x 250 hp Suzuki 4 stroke outboards and is fully equipped to the SAMSA safety requirements. Fast, stable and spacious, she makes for the ideal platform. The vessel is licensed to carry 12 passengers but experience has shown that 6 fishermen prove to be the ideal number with a possible 4 none fisherman as guests.

   Suitable clothes including hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.

A Knysna Deep Sea Fishing Licence per person fishing: Obtainable from the Post Office

Suitable container to transport your catch home. Yes, you get to keep what you have caught! 

 Blixsem Fishing Charters depart from the Knysna Angling Club between 6 and 7 am and spend between 4 and 5 hours out at sea.

We provide 

Everything you need to catch your fish: Fishing Rods, Tackle & Bait.

A sandwich, snacks & refreshments.

No Alcohol is allowed on board. 

We can all enjoy a drink back at the club while cleaning the fish.   

 There is a wide variety of fish to be caught off the Knysna Deep Sea Fishing Coast. 

Pelagic fish (Top Water) such as Bonito and Mackerel are plentiful throughout most of the year, tend to peak during the warmer months of the year.

Bottom fish such as Reds (Roman, Santer, Dageraad, Miss Lucy) are still caught in good numbers, as are Kob with Yellow tail on occasions. We have also discovered some productive Hake grounds, but be aware they are in deep waters and require a fair bit of physical endurance.

We also offer fun family outings where we take the family for a boat ride into the deep sea to look for whales and dolphins (this is not a  guaranteed sighting) and a short fishing session, especially for those that have never fished before.
